"Church of Scientology accused of torture and forced abortions"

From a Times Online article on the increasingly embattled Church of Scientology:

The letters, which the senator has passed onto police, contained allegations of a range of crimes, including forced imprisonment, coerced abortions, embezzlement of church funds, physical violence, intimidation and blackmail.

...

Among the letters he tabled was one from a former follower from Western Australia, who was born into Scientology. The man wrote in a letter that as a member of the organisation in both Australia and the US he had participated in the “forced confinement and torture” of others. His letter also states: “Several abortions were ordered as well”.

Physical confinement, torture, coerced abortions. We've heard of these practices before.

I dont know now at this moment but in another time I can remember somthing similar in ubf, maybe more years and no body would remember that it was real, and not a lie, defame,as they show now.
may be they dont make you do it, but persuade, argue, bring around to do the best for you (for them?).
I heard about this before, but no more to speak, no more to do from outside.

sorry.

I can remember one of my first Genesis bible studies with my chapter director. He was teaching me about the shepherd heart that we were suppose to learn from God, in Genesis. - What were we willing to do out of our "shepard's heart" or accept from another person's "shepard heart" for us. - Helping someone get an abortion for the sake of her "spiritual life" was one of the extreme examples of having a "shepard heart" that he used.

Some years later, during ubf's controversial move to have it's Summer Bible conference at Wheaton College, in 2003, he and the rest of the UBF leadership adamantly denied any reason whatsoever when abortion was justifiable, in order to fight off the accusations surrounding Samuel Lee and abortion, that would stop Wheaton from letting UBF have it's conference there.
