An ex UBFer gave me the link to a terrific little allegory: The granola gospel. Worth reading.

Here is what I answered:

That had really some truth in it :-) However, I thought UBF was not even covered by this allegory since in the story all restaurants were *free*. The UBF restauran is only free in the beginning. But then the UBF restaurant owner expects you to become either an unpaid cook (branch manager) or an unpaid waiter, or you would be kicked out after some time. They also expect the customers to wash the dishes, clean the floor and the windows, make marketing for the restaurant and win over new customers and spoon-feed them, and to give 10 percent of your income for the food, and to never miss a meal in that restaurant. The food however was only 40 years old pre-chewn flummeries not even fresh granola ;-)
