Mr. Perelman is a bit strange, but his humbleness is exemplary. I have never seen such true humbleness in UBF.

but also because it shows again the problems of the Confucian/political mindset. It is neither compatible with Christianity nor with science.

Yau's mindset and claim are very similar to Samuel Lee's mindset and claim. Samuel Lee always claimed that his visit to Moscow in 1985(?) was the main reason to bring down the communist regime in the former Soviet Union.

Even though Yau claims 30% of credit in solving the most complicated math problems, Samuel Lee gave him 100% of credit in bringing down the Iron Curtain. Influenced by Samuel Lee, many UBF people still believe that their sacrifice in doing Russian dancing and eating black Russian bread on Fridays contributed the most in liberating the Russian people.

But it is not true. There were many people who sacrificed more than just doing Russina dancing, eating Russian bread on Fridays and visiting Moscow one time to bring down the Iron Curtain. But Samuel Lee and his devotees never considered the sacrifices others made. Samuel Lee and his devotees are more vicious than Yau in self-glorification.

The only difference is that Yau at least is a great mathematician who made some real achievements. He resembles more the fisher's wife in the famous tale.
